At the Gamescom 2009 press event, Sony finally confirmed the imminent release of the PS3 Slim, which will hit store shelves next month. The new skinny version of the console will have a 120GB hard drive and a $299 price tag.
In anticipation of the release, the current 80GB model has dropped to $299, while the 160GB version can be picked up for $399. Eventually, the 80GB model will be phased out of production (and possibly the 160GB?), so grab it now if you’re a collector or are fond of the fatty PS3.
