The highly anticipated new ip The Saboteur from Pandemic studios finally got slated for a release date. December 4 2009 the game will be available in Europe and will hit store shelves in North America four days later. The Saboteur is another World War II era game, but don’t start thinking it’s going to taste as offsetting as Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway. This new ip is looking branch into a new direction for next generation gaming with a Noir look. The Saboteur hopefully will be placed among its own category. The main character, Irish born Sean Devlin, fights against the Germans in search for revenge. All the German controlled areas start black and white, and as you free them of their evil do-er inhabitants, they will be brought to life with full color coupled with a unique pallet. All game play footage seen so far (mainly at E3) The Saboteur has sent me into shock and awe. I predict a sleeper hit.
The game is set in an open world scaled down version of Paris and looks absolutely stunning. Coupled with high flying stunts and stealth attacks, The Saboteur is turning into one title you’ll want to keep on your radar this holiday season.
