The Jace Hall show posted a new video segment of Duke Nuken Forever footage, featuring previously unreleased clips from 2007 of actual gameplay. Since then, of course, the game’s epic 12-year-long development odyssey halted when 3D Realms sort of shut down…and then Take Two sued them for not delivering on their agreement. Anyway, sad.
In a brief interview segment, Jace asks Scott Miller, President of 3D Realms, and George Broussard, Game Designer, straight up “What the fuck is taking so long with Duke Nukem Forever?”
Broussard jokes that all of the “hookers,” “cocaine” and “World of Warcraft” are to blame. First of all, that sounds like my kind of party. But really, I think even with all of those combined, George, Duke Nukem Forever would have been released back in the dark ages of like 2005.
The clip–which could win an award for “The Worst, Most Inexplicably Shakey Camera Work In the World”–starts out in a cave segment, where Duke lurks around with a mini-gun, killing aliens. The clip then proceeds into a sort of labratory area, where a smaller, squid-like breed of alien appears and attacks. The graphics look very good, though I should mention the colors and general atmosphere remind me of Doom 3. Anyone else?
